I am supporting Younis and his family to flourish amidst catastrophe in Gaza. This family have survived through the endless terrorism thrown at them from the Israeli army since October 2023 when they embarked on the most televised, savage and heartless genocide which is ongoing. My friend Younis is a member of this family and I keep in touch with all that happens to them as far as possible, given that they can go days without internet. His mother is so drained, exhausted and in deep despair, she found it very hard to leave the site of her family home, which is now rubble. She cannot face more moving, leaving everything behind and having to start over again. Every day there is less and less food available. The children are suffering a lot, they do not have new clothes and desperately need some. Their health continues to be compromised and 3 infants succumbed to the difficulties faced by hunger and lack of medical support.

The family are in a tent in Al Mawasi which is not the safe zone which was announced on October 8th 2023 which is where Gaza’s civilians were told to go to . Bombing of tents appears to be a regular form of terrorism on top of the other kinds of terror in place in Gaza. On our screens we have seen people dying from so many kinds of suffering, bombing from AI drones in cars, on bicycles, walking aimlessly, in ambulances, burning in tents. So many children suffer and skin, chest and abdominal disease at a time when medical support is extremely limited due to the brutal siege. When the heat increases dangers are magnified.

The people of Gaza have not been spared any dignity, respect, safety or humanity. Testimonies from medics confirm the level of terrorism is something they have never witnessed even in war zones. Children are becoming mute as a result of the endlessness of explosions, screaming and noise from drones.

This family now have an opportunity to leave Gaza but need the funds to pay their way out of their homeland. There is shelter waiting for them in Jordan and they desperately deserve, like all Gazan Palestinians, to have a safe and peaceful future.

I want to continue to help this family have what they need when they need it. I ask you for your generous support through contributing what you can to this fundraiser. I also ask you to share it as widely as possible. The family do, I know, appreciate all the support given from the bottom of their hearts. They wish so much not to ask but have been forced to do so.

Please help by donating and sharing widely. Shukran.

Life continues in an extremely limited way except for daily struggle to find water, food, energy and fuel. According to Younis’ father he cannot, hand on heart, find any words to describe what their existence is at the moment. It certainly is not ‘living’ in his mind. The pain all members of the Gaza community face continues to grow with their sense of ambandonment from the international community. Lets continue to do all we can to support this family and look forward to this nightmare ending, offering a future of having dreams, expectations and desires, once again.
